Welcome to Wamberal Surgery

Wamberal Surgery is located in the beachside suburb of Wamberal on the beautiful NSW Central Coast (near Terrigal). 

We have provided for over 55 years and continue to provide a high standard of medical care to all patients.  Wamberal Surgery was one of the first practices on the Central Coast to open extended hours and offer this service to the community. Wamberal Surgery has grown over these years and all the doctors and staff are just as committed today as they were back when we first opened.

Wamberal Surgery is privately owned and operated. 
Wamberal Surgery is fully accredited to the highest standards set by the Department of Health and the Australian Government. Wamberal Surgery is committed to patients and we welcome new patients to the practice.

Nursing Staff

The nursing team is a critical part of the care and professionalism we provide to patients of Wamberal Surgery. The nurses and allied health practitioners are here to complement the work of the GPs and to offer you a holistic health management service. The nurses provide many services, including care plans, health assessments, dressings, medicals, ECG, INR, spirometry and audiometry tests and many other nursing services

FLU SHOTS NOW AVAILABLE

Protect yourself and your community this flu season. Flu vaccinations are now available at our clinic. Please call us on 4384 2255 to book in.

We will be running dedicated flu vaccination clinics commencing 14 April 2026, held in the mornings from 7:30am to 9:00am for a limited number of weeks.

Flu vaccinations are free for eligible patients under the National Immunisation Program for the following:

  • Children aged 6 months to under 5 years
  • Adults aged 65 years and over
  • Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
  • People aged 6 months and over with certain medical conditions, including:
    • Heart disease
    • Chronic lung conditions (e.g. asthma)
    • Diabetes
    • Kidney disease
    • Neurological conditions
    • Weakened immune system

A private fee of $22 is  payable if not listed above.

FluMist® Needle-Free Nasal Spray

You may have seen recent media coverage regarding the release of the needle-free nasal flu vaccine, FluMist®.

Availability and Eligibility

  • FluMist® is available free under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for children aged 2, 3, and 4 years.
  • For individuals aged 5 to 17 years (inclusive), FluMist® may be accessed via private prescription, with an approximate cost of $50 through pharmacies.
  • The vaccine is reported to provide protection for up to 12 months.

 

Please Note:

FluMist® – Contraindications and Precautions

FluMist® (needle-free nasal influenza vaccine) is not suitable for everyone. It should not be used in the following groups:

Contraindications

  • Children under 2 years of age or adults 18 years and over
  • Individuals with a history of severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to any component of the vaccine or a previous influenza vaccine
  • Immunocompromised individuals (e.g. due to medical conditions or immunosuppressive therapy)
  • Children and adolescents receiving aspirin or salicylate therapy
  • Pregnant women

Precautions (medical advice required before use)

  • History of severe asthma or active wheezing
  • Close contact with severely immunocompromised individuals (e.g. bone marrow transplant patients in protective isolation)
  • Recent use of antiviral medications for influenza
  • Moderate to severe acute illness (vaccination may need to be delayed)
